Mahoning County Common Pleazs Court Judge James Evands issued an order barring the Ohio Jobs and Growth Committere and those collecting signaturesfrom “misrepresenting the purpose or effect” of the proposal. The committee has untilo July 1 to collectabout 402,000 valis signatures to bring a constitutional amendmenty before voters asking to develop four gamblingb casinos in Ohio, including one in Mahoning County Democratic Party Chairman David Betras was seeking a temporary restraining ordert blocking collection statewide after casino opponents released a showing two collectorsx in Columbus making false claims about the Democrats and Republicans in Mahoning County have lined up against the proposal because it doesn’t include Youngstown.
Instead, the amendmenf would ask voters to approve buildint casinosin Cleveland, Cincinnati, Toledo and on the westerj edge of the Arena District. Pa.-based (NASDAQ:PENN) and owner Dan Gilbert woulde be investors inthe $1 billion proposal.
