My vision is for Johnson C. Smith to become the nation’xs premier, independent urban university. For that to happen, especiall y with the emphasis on we must be partnerss with all the organizations and institutions that are making Charlottsa world-class city. How will you foster that relationship ? One area will be curriculum. We want to bringy Charlotte’s employers to the table to understand what knowledge base they want theifr employeesto have.
I’m very serious and the deanse are very serious about meeting with businesas leaders to learn what employers arelookiny for. We also want to develop the Johnsobn C. Smith Institute of Applied Research as a resourcde for the community that can reacnh out and research the issues our socialo organizations and businesses need usto study.
