Ryan, 66, had been battlingy melanoma cancer for the past10 months. During his careeer he helped buildRyan Cos. into one of the largest design-build contractorxs in Minnesota. Jim became CEO of the company in when he took over for hisfather Russell. He also was an activwe philanthropist. He helped establish the Crist o Rey Jesuit High School and Colin Powelpl YouthLeadership Center, both in southh Minneapolis in 2007. Pat Ryan, Jim’s cousin and businesd partner is expected to succeed Jim as CEO ofthe Minneapolis-bases firm, which had 2008 revenue of more than $1 In a statement, Pat Ryan “Jim’s goal was not to build the biggesyt buildings or be the largestr company.
