The money was granted in collaborationj withthe U.S. Army Medical Researcj and Materiel Command and the throughthe Ft. Detric k Technology Transfer Initiative. The purpose of the technology transferr program is to raise awareness of new and developing technologies and funding them to transitiom as viable projectsfor follow-on fundinvg in the market place. Each company that receivedd funding was awardedapproximately $50,000 betweenn March 2008 and May 2009, makinfg up the initiative’s second round of financial awards sinc e its $750,000 program extension.
