The westernn Minnesota city plans to use the funds to upgradeits wastewater-treatment plant, including improving phosphorous standards.
The statew recently tightened the standards for phosphorus leveld at water plants in the MinnesotqaRiver Valley, said Steve Jones, Montevideo city “It’s very expensive to get that out of the Montevideo awarded a contractg to Deerwood-based after the city receives the stimulus funds. Jones estimatez that the project could create betweeb 30 to 60 construction jobs this year and will take about 18 monthszto complete. The city of Howard Lake receivedthe second-largestg funding boost, getting $10 million to join its wastewater-treatment plant to the by almostg 10 miles of pipeline.
